  • El siglo XIX ha sido aquel en que más se ha explotado la imagen femenina en las diferentes manifestaciones del arte. Este trabajo toma como objeto de estudio las diferentes imágenes femeninas o, mejor, los diferentes modelos de mujer que el imaginario masculino, y tal vez femenino, ha recreado en las artes en general. Personajes bíblicos como Eva o Judith, o el mítico nombre de Salomé, encarnan los dos arquetipos femeninos en torno a los cuales ha girado la imagen de la mujer: ángel o demonio con sus respectivos modelos pictóricos de la Madona o Venus. A partir de la segunda mitad del siglo, el imaginario femenino alcanza formas artísticas que han embellecido, enriquecido la obra literaria y le han otorgado una dimensión plural.
