The book also analyzes all those poems by Hernández in which the bull, and bullfighting itself, acquire a theological, erotic and totemic dimension. Nacido(s) para el luto suggests that a literary universe permeated by the bull and the art of bullfighting articulates much of the poetry of Miguel Hernández, a poet who seemed to anticipate the fate he was tragically doomed to share with the bull, sacrificed in the arena.
