Manuel Andújar returned to Spain in 1967, after almost thirty years of exile, silently and quietly, to carry out - as the correspondence studied shows - a continuous, tenacious work, ascribed to the democratic ideal that the Republic of his youth embodied. Thus, among many and diverse activities, he decidedly collaborated in the inventory of the intelligentsia of the so called “pilgrim Spain”, he looked for the inclusion within the Spanish literary scene (either through unifying projects or individually) of the work of all the exiles who requested his disinterested and spirited services, and took part, for example, in the creation of outstanding cultural magazines.
