Ese ano o título da charla era “As dúas culturas e a revolución científica”, e serviu para asentar definitivamente o termo “as dúas culturas”. O texto da Conferencia Rede converteuse en libro (The two cultures, C.P. Snow, Cambridge University Press, 1959); ese libro abriu unha longa polémica, e agora o Consello da Cultura Galega celebra o 50 aniversario da charla inicial cunha serie de coloquios-debate e coa tradución ao galego de As dúas culturas.
